About Places and Spaces

Places and Spaces, a new Web 2.0 mash-up currently in public beta, is designed to help you figure out what's going on in and around your city. We've built our mash-up using various Yahoo! Developer Program web services such as the Yahoo! Maps, Search and Travel just to name a few. Originally we used the Yahoo! Content Analysis for our meta data generation but have since moved to the TRYNT Contextual Term Extraction web service instead to save our Yahoo queries.

Places and Spaces runs is a LAMP or Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP based web-site. To reduce development time the Odin Assemble framework was also used.
